The king of Iran had been worried for a long time. There were times of prosperity everywhere, but the king's trouble was due to his only daughter, Princess Sana. Like every father, the king wanted to fulfill his duty by marrying his daughter, but Princess Sana had also made a strange announcement that whoever would answer these questions correctly would marry her. Many princes from the surrounding states came but returned unscathed. There was also a young student living in this country, his name was Azam. He told his father that he too wanted to try his luck. Azam's father was a teacher and had been spreading the light of knowledge among the people for many years.

The prime minister of Persia, the great courtier, and judge of the city was also his student.

When the father saw the desire of the son, he said: Son! If you return unsuccessful, nothing will happen to you. What will people say that the son of a teacher has failed? ایران کا بادشاہ ایک عرصے سے پریشان تھا۔ ہر طرف خوشحالی کے دور تھے لیکن بادشاہ کی پریشانی اس کی اکلوتی بیٹی شہزادی ثناء کی وجہ سے تھی۔ ہر باپ کی طرح بادشاہ بھی اپنی بیٹی کی شادی کرکے اپنا فرض پورا کرنا چاہتا تھا لیکن شہزادی ثناء نے بھی عجیب اعلان کر دیا تھا کہ جو بھی ان سوالوں کا صحیح جواب دے گا وہ اس سے شادی کر لے گا۔ آس پاس کی ریاستوں سے بہت سے شہزادے آئے لیکن بغیر کسی نقصان کے واپس لوٹ گئے۔ اس ملک میں ایک نوجوان طالب علم بھی رہتا تھا، اس کا نام اعظم تھا۔ اس نے اپنے والد کو بتایا کہ وہ بھی اپنی قسمت آزمانا چاہتا ہے۔ اعظم کے والد ایک استاد تھے اور کئی سالوں سے لوگوں میں علم کی روشنی پھیلا رہے تھے۔

فارس کا وزیر اعظم، شہر کا عظیم درباری اور قاضی بھی ان کا شاگرد تھا۔ باپ نے بیٹے کی خواہش دیکھی تو کہا: بیٹا! اگر آپ ناکام لوٹے تو آپ کو کچھ نہیں ہوگا۔ لوگ کیا کہیں گے کہ استاد کا بیٹا فیل ہو گیا۔ اعظم نے اپنے والد سے کہا: بابا! بڑے شہزادے واپس آگئے۔ میں بھی فیل ہو گیا تو کیا ہوا، یہ مقابلہ ہے جو جیت جائے اور شاید وہ خوش نصیب ہو۔ آخر کار باپ کو بیٹے کی بات ماننی پڑی۔ اعظم خوشی خوشی محل کی طرف چل دیا۔ شہر میں یہ خبر جنگل کی آگ کی طرح پھیل گئی کہ ایک عالم کا بیٹا قسمت آزمائی کے لیے محل میں آیا ہے۔

محل مقررہ وقت پر لوگوں سے کھچا کھچ بھرا ہوا تھا۔ بادشاہ تخت پر بیٹھا ہوا تھا۔ ملکہ بھی محل میں موجود تھی۔ وزیر، امیر، درباری اور عوام سب دربار میں موجود تھے۔ آخرکار شہزادی نے اپنا پہلا سوال کیا۔ اس نے شہادت کی انگلی ہوا میں بلند کی۔

اعظم نے ایک لمحے کے لیے توقف کیا اور پھر شہادت کی انگلی سے اگلی انگلی کو ہوا میں اٹھایا۔ یہ دیکھ کر شہزادی مسکرا دی اور ملکہ نے کہا: شاباش جوان! آپ نے پہلا مرحلہ کامیابی سے مکمل کر لیا ہے۔ دوسرے سوال پر شہزادی اپنی کرسی سے اٹھی اور تلوار ہاتھ میں لیے ہوا میں چلنے لگی۔

تھوڑی دیر بعد وہ واپس اپنی سیٹ پر آکر بیٹھ گئی۔ اعظم نے کھڑے ہو کر جیب سے قلم نکال کر ہوا میں بلند کیا۔ شاباش نوجوان! ہم خوش ہیں یہ جواب بھی درست ہے۔ دربار میں ملکہ کی آواز بلند ہوئی۔ ساتھ ہی دربار مبارک ہو مبارک ہو کی صدا گونج اٹھی۔ دو سوال کیا تھے؟ ان کے کیا جواب تھے، اب سب حیران تھے کہ شہزادی نے کیا پوچھا اور اعظم نے کیا جواب دیا۔ یہ لوگوں کے لیے ایک معمہ تھا۔ آخرکار شہزادی نے تیسرا سوال کیا۔ وہ جلدی جلدی سیڑھیاں اتری اور تیزی سے سیڑھیاں چڑھ کر دوبارہ بیٹھ گئی۔ یہ ایک عجیب سوال تھا۔ ہر طرف خاموشی تھی۔ لوگ سانس روکے ہوئے تھے۔ اب اعظم کے ہاتھ پاؤں ٹھنڈے ہو رہے تھے۔ آخر کار اعظم کھڑا ہوا اور دل پر ہاتھ رکھ کر شہزادی کی طرف دیکھا۔

ہیلو، نوجوان آدمی کو خوش آمدید! مبارک ہو! شہزادی آپ کو پسند کرتی ہے ملکہ کی آواز سے شہزادی ثناء شرماتے ہوئے محل کے اندرونی حصے میں چلی گئیں اور محل مبارکبادوں کی آوازوں سے گونج اٹھا۔ لوگ خوشی سے جھوم رہے تھے۔ وہ دل ہی دل میں اللہ کا شکر ادا کر رہا تھا جس نے اسے یہ اعزاز بخشا تھا۔ بادشاہ نے اعظم سے پوچھا: اے نوجوان! آپ نے ملکہ کو مطمئن کر دیا ہے۔ اب بتاؤ تم سے کیا پوچھا گیا اور کیا جواب دیا؟ اگر آپ نے ایک بھی غلط جواب دیا تو آپ کو مار دیا جائے گا۔ وزیر اعظم بڑے اعتماد کے ساتھ کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا: اے بادشاہ سلامت! شہزادی نے انگلی اٹھا کر پوچھا کیا تم ایک خدا کو مانتی ہو؟ میں نے دو انگلیاں اٹھا کر جواب دیا کہ میرا اللہ اور اس کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ایمان غیر متزلزل ہے۔

شاندار ! ہم خوش ہیں بادشاہ نے مسکرا کر کہا۔ اعظم نے کہا: اس کے بعد شہزادی نے اپنی تلوار کھینچی اور پوچھا کہ کیا اس سے بڑا کوئی ہتھیار ہے؟ میں نے جواب دیا کہ ہاں قلم تلوار سے زیادہ کارآمد ہے۔ ان شاء اللہ! نوجوان ! آپ نے ہمارا دل جیت لیا۔ آپ نے ثابت کیا کہ جاہ و جلال، دولت اور جاہ و جلال کے علم میں کوئی جگہ نہیں، لیکن تیسرا جواب؟ ہمت ہار کر بادشاہ نے پوچھا: اعظم نے آسمان کی طرف دیکھا اور کہا: بادشاہ! شہزادی دربار کی سیڑھیاں چڑھتی چلی گئی اور تھک ہار کر کرسی پر بیٹھ گئی۔

اس نے پوچھا کہ میں تھک گیا ہوں لیکن میرے جسم میں ایک چیز نہیں تھکی۔ میں نے جواب دے دیا. دل پیدائش سے موت تک انتھک دھڑکتا ہے۔ بادشاہ نے سردار کو بلوایا اور اسے گلے لگایا اور کہا: لوگو! گواہ بننے کے لیے، میں نے اپنا حق ادا کر دیا ہے۔ میری بیٹی ایک ایسے شخص کی بیوی بن رہی ہے جس کے پاس علم کی دولت ہے، جسے نہ کوئی چوری کر سکتا ہے اور نہ گھٹا سکتا ہے۔ اسی وقت بادشاہ نے اعظم اور شہزادی ثناء کی شادی خوشی خوشی طے کی۔
